I ordered a couple of books from Kinokuniya and they shipped out fast. I thought it might take longer, but, actually, the package ended up arriving earlier than I expected. The tracking updated normally the whole time, which was nice. One corner of the package was a little bent, but it wasn’t a big deal and the books were fine overall. I’m happy with how quick it was and I’d definitely order from them again.

I can usually find the books I’m looking for, which is nice, but the website can be kinda slow. The search filters feel a little messy sometimes too, so it’s not always as easy as it should be to narrow things down. Checkout wasn’t bad or anything, just not super smooth. Overall, it gets the job done, but it’d be better if the site were easier to use.

I stopped in expecting a decent coffee and a quick pastry, but the whole visit was disappointing. I waited way too long for my drink, and the staff acted like I was bothering them just by being there. The pastry was dry too, like it had been sitting around for who knows how long, which made me wonder a bit. Maybe it was just a bad day, but I’m not really convinced. I don’t think I’ll be going back

I got my preorder in the end, so I’m happy about that. But like I said, the backorder updates were slow, and I kind of had to just wait without knowing much. Like I said, everything did arrive, but the communication could’ve been better.

I like the vibe of this store because it feels calm and cozy and it’s a nice place to wander around and look at books, but it gets crowded fast and then it can be kind of hard to move around without bumping into people, so I still enjoy stopping in, I just wish it felt a little less packed sometimes.

I was trying to grab a few books from kinokuniya the other day, but I got stuck at the payment part. For some reason my card kept getting rejected, even though I use it all the time on other sites with no issue. Maybe I missed something, but I also didn’t see the payment options I usually use, so I ended up trying a couple different things and just got frustrated. After a while I gave up and ordered the books somewhere else. Kind of disappointing for such a well-known bookstore.

I found a few books I really wanted, but once I got to checkout, the shipping was almost as much as the books themselves. At that point it just didn’t feel worth it, so I ended up canceling the order. Has anyone else run into the same issue with shipping being that high?

I was kind of disappointed because the selection felt limited and I went in hoping to find a few specific books but couldn’t find about half of what I wanted, so I ended up leaving with less than I planned and feeling like they just didn’t have much to browse through.

My first impression was good because the book showed as in stock, so I went ahead and ordered it without thinking twice. A few days later, I got an email saying it actually wasn’t available, which was frustrating. If I’d known that from the start, I could’ve just checked another site sooner. They really need to keep their inventory info more up to date.

Just a heads up for anyone ordering this, my box showed up completely crushed. Thankfully I checked it right away, but the packaging definitely didn’t hold up well during shipping.

I don’t get it, this should be simple, but every book I actually want to read is unavailable. I keep searching, getting excited, and then hitting the same dead end. It makes the whole thing way more frustrating than it needs to be.

I do like Kinokuniya for books, and I usually find something interesting when I go, but the locations just aren’t very convenient for me. They always seem to be in busy areas, so getting there turns into a whole thing with parking, train changes, or just dealing with crowds.

The website is fine for checking what they have, though I get annoyed when everything pushes you toward automated systems instead of just making things easier. If I actually want to browse or pick something up in person, it feels like too much hassle. I just wish they had more stores in places that were easier to get to.

I ordered one specific book and ended up receiving a completely different one. When I reached out about it, the response made me feel like I was being talked down to, as if I had somehow misunderstood my own order. Disappointing experience overall

I really like shopping on kinokuniya.com because they have a great selection, especially for manga and Japanese books. The site is easy enough to use, and my order arrived without any issues. The only downside is the price. Some books cost less on other sites, and once shipping gets added, the total can go up fast. So I’m happy with the experience overall, but I’d probably order more often if it was a little more affordable.

I bought a kinokuniya gift card online because I thought it would be an easy last-minute gift for a friend. In my head, it was going to be one of those quick “buy it, email it, done” situations, but then I kept checking my inbox and waiting longer than I expected for it to show up.

When my friend finally tried to use it, that’s when the whole thing got a bit more annoying. The checkout page wasn’t super clear, and they couldn’t really tell if the gift card balance had been applied or not, so we ended up having to reach out to support. Support did respond eventually, but it definitely wasn’t fast.

I still really like kinokuniya as a store, and I’ll keep shopping there, but the online gift card process felt clunkier than it should have. It wasn’t a total disaster, just more hassle than I wanted for a simple gift, so I probably wouldn’t buy one from the website again

I wouldn’t bother. The whole experience felt frustrating, especially dealing with the automated system instead of an actual person. I kept going in circles and never felt like my issue was really being handled. For what it is, it’s just not worth the time or stress
